1. Government of India
National Overseas scholarship for Scheduled Cast Students.
The scheme provides financial Assistance to selected candidates for pursuing Masters level courses and Ph. D

Min Qualification
1. Master Degree – 55% marks or equivalent grade in relevant Bachelors degree.
2. Ph.D. – 55% marks or equivalent grade in relevant Master degree.
Age – Below 35 years.
Income Ceiling – Rs.6.0 lakh per annum.
Duration
1. Masters Degree – 3 years
2. Ph. D – 4 years
Financial Assistance
Maintainance allowance, Contingent allowance for books/essential apparatus, study tour, travel cost, thesis preparation, medical insurance etc.
H. Publicity
The scheme is given wide publicity in leading newspapers and website www.socialjustic.nic.in After receiving the application as per last date announced, the candidates are shortlisted. The short listed candidates are interviewed and finally selected.
2. GOVERNMENT OF MAHARASHTRA
Scholarship scheme for Scheduled cast students offered by Ministry Social Justice & Special Assistance GOM.
The scheme provides financial Assistance to selected candidates for pursuing Master degree & PhD.

Application
should be submitted to Commissioner, Social Wellfare, 3 church Road, Pune-1 with the following documents.
a) Cast Certificate (Cast Validity if available)
b) Income Certificate
c) Domacile Certificate
d) Admission Letter of University abroad.
e) Copy of prospect of the university where admission in sought.
f) Estimated Expenditure for foreign education.
g) ID and Address proof.
h) Essay of 250 words regarding intension to take education abroad.

Education Loan
A lot of capable student often fail to fulfill their dreams of higher education as with the cost of education has become a costly affair. To support such students so that they may not be left behind from the main stream, GOI has formulated Education loan scheme.
Two banking financial Apex bodies RBI and IBA (Indian Bank Association) have assisted Govt. in preparing plan & procedane for education loans.
Details two such schems are :-
SCHEME – 1
A term loan is granted to Indian National for persuing higher education in India & Abroad where admission is secured.
A. Loan Amount
I)For studies in India –Max. 10.0 lakhs.
II)For studies abroad – Max. 30.0 lakhs.
B. Rate of Interest – Slightly higher than prime lending rates.
C. Repayment – In 10-12 years after course period.
D. Security
I) upto Rs.4.0 lakhs – II) Rs. 4.0 – 7.5 lakhs – III) Above Rs. 7.5 lakhs – |

E. Document Required-
a) Letter of admission.
b) Completely filled loan application from.
c) Statement of cost of the study.
d) Bank A/C statement of last 6 month of Parents / Guardian.
e) IT Return of the previous 2 yrs. Of Parent/Guardian.
f)Proof of income (salary slips / from no. 16) of Parent/ Gaurdian.
g) Proof of Identity, Address and 2 passport size photographs.

2) Rate of Interest – Slightly higher than Base rate.
3) Repayment – In 12 years after completion of course.
Note- Income tax exemption under section 80(E) in respect of interest.
4) Documents Required
In addition to scheme No. 1- Brief statements of Assets & Liabilities is required.
Loan application forms are available on Websites of scheduled Banks.
Central scheme to provide interest Subsidy (CSIS) on Education Loan.
Ministry of Human Resources Development Government of India, has launched a scheme to provide full interest subsidy during the period of moratorium (course period plus 1 year or 6 months after getting job, whichever is earlier) on the loans taken by students belonging to economically weaker sections from scheduled Banks under the educational loan for approved courses/ studies in Technical & professional streams from recognized institutes in India.
